In the autumn 2011, we searched enthusiastic families through MTV3 webpage to test our
novelty, automatically water consuming smart bath and shower faucet Oras Eterna. Among the interested applicants, Tv channel MTV3 chose five families. Oras Eterna faucets with Oras Natura shower sets were installed in their bathrooms.
Five three- to five-person families from Western Finland tested Oras Eterna faucets with Oras Natura shower set during September-October. Now it's the time to reveal the results. How much did the water consumption decreased and what kind of impact Oras Eterna had on the shower habits of these families?
Less time spent in the shower and significant savings in water consumption
Families with children enjoyed Oras Eterna’s EcoLed function which automatically takes care of an ideal shower time. EcoLed press pad indicates an ecological time spent in shower with a green light. When the ideal time is approaching to the end a red light starts to blink: preset four minutes shower time is up and the faucet closes automatically.
- Oras Eterna has really changed our family’s shower habits. During this test period we have managed to cut down our water consumption. Without this experience we would be wasting water as before. The kids enjoy the faucet. They compete with each other in the shower who gets a green light, Juha-Pekka tells about his experiences. In his opinion, Oras Eterna is an excellent tool for cutting down the family’s water consumption.
- At least in our family the time spent in shower has significantly decreased: before we used to spend up to 15-20 minutes in the shower and now with Oras Eterna our showers last four minutes or less. Savings in water consumption are significant in a five-person family. And a great thing is that it can be done this easy, Lilli evaluates.
- User-friendliness and a thermostat which maintains the water temperature stable have
increased the shower experience and ecology, Toni says.
- The faucet is really easy to use. The easy-to-use press pad makes the closing and opening of the faucet very convenient. Since the water flow and temperature are immediately correct when opening the faucet, there’s no effort in closing and re-opening of the faucet. You don’t have to think about readjusting the flow or temperature, Paula comments.
The faucet is opened and closed by pressing the EcoLed pad. Additionally EcoLed press pad operates as a flow regulator. The temperature regulator on the side of the faucet is equipped with an eco-button which can be pressed if hot water is needed. The surface of the faucet never gets too hot for fingers.
- The savings in water consumption are significant and yet the shower experience is far better than I expected. After this experience I will demand much more from other faucets as well, Paula summed her experience. Oras Eterna combines pleasure and ecology.
